For the first time Story Mode will be featured in a EMPIRES game, in a new system similar to Dynasty Warriors 7's Kingdom Story Mode. Improved Empires Mode and Castle Town Control!
In the New and Revamped Empires Mode, players can now build the town around your castle in a similar way as seen in Nobunaga's Ambition Rise to Power, placing buildings as you see fit and upgrading the Castle. Also, Several New Stages have been confirmed as well as the return of the Short Events from SW2E.
Strategic Battles and New Bases!
As every Empires games, the level of Strategy is higher and more interesting. In the Famitsu blog, it has been stated that the New and Revamped Empires Mode will feature deeper strategies and tactics to make things more interesting. Also, Two New Types of Bases has been included in the game: Cannon Base and Eagle Base, the second is a kind of base where you can ride eagles to other bases freely.
HUGE NUMBER of Characters!
Samurai Warriors 3Z had 40 generals. According to Famitsu.com, Samurai Warriors 3 Empires will have over 600 generals, all playable. Yet, it's not confirmed that all the 600 will be Unique Characters. The most likely is that only a really small part of them is going to be unique, the rest will be semi-generic characters.
For now it seems that Samurai Warriors 3 Empires will have the same fate as Samurai Warriors Z / Xtreme Legends and will never see a release outside Japan.
