Binary Domain - INFO MADNESS

"Give my Beloved Toaster back, Robot Scum!" - Dan Marshall, When facing a Boss

Binary Domain has been announced some time ago. The game focus in a Tokyo in the Future that gets overtaken by Sentient-Robots, and it's up for the player to confront the evil robots and restore peace to Japan. The Game is developed by the same team of the famous Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku series, and the game is set for release in PS3 and XBOX360 early 2012.

Like many Japanese-developed games targeting westerners, Binary Domain has a hilariously cliche black guy. But unlike many Japanese-developed games targeting westerners, Binary Domain is set in Tokyo, home of the people making the game.

The in-game Tokyo isn't exactly like the Tokyo of today, though. The game is set in 2080. Global warming has cased the oceans to rise, so people throughout the world have begun construction of new "upper cities," built far from the sea and high up.

The new cities rest atop the old ones, which continue to be populated by poorer residents even as they are submerged by water. This has lead to a division of the world into upper and lower layers, causing growing social instability.

The construction of the upper city causes great demand for robots. The robot industry grows into the major industry of the world, larger than the communications and automobile industries. A variety of robots are developed, some for military use, some for personal use.

Eventually, robots that resemble humans being to appear. This ends up leading to greater instability as the technology is adopted by terror and criminal organizations. The United Nations begins to discuss restrictions in robot technology. A meeting in Geneva sees 150 countries sign the New Geneva Pact which attempts to reduce military use robots and ban human-like robots. The Geneva Code, as the pact is called, actually forbids not just the creation of robots that resemble humans, but research into robots that have human-like mental capabilities.

While this scenario is played out throughout the world as a whole, Binary Domain concerns itself just with Japan, or specifically Tokyo. In Japan, the powerful Amada Company has lost an international patent battle with an American company over advanced robot technology. Japan loses its hold of the lead in worldwide robot tech.

A Warm Reception, Don't you think?
Within the robot industry are two major organizations: Amada and Bergen.

Amada, a Japanese company, was founded by genius inventor Youji Amada and was the first company to develop human-formed robots. The first such human robot, shown below next to Youji, was created in 2047 as a home support robot and became a hit for Amada.

Bergen was founded in Detroit, Michigan as a family business under CEO Alexander Bergen. After winning a patent dispute with Amada, it now controls 95% of the world's robot market share.

Following the patent lawsuit, Youji Amada disappeared from public life.

In addition to these details on the game's robot industry, Sega detailed the game's IRTA organization. IRTA, which stands for International Robot Technology Agency, falls under the UN's Council on Science and Technology for Robot division. This group enforces the Geneva Code, which was passed by the UN forbidding the development of human-like robots.

Main characters Dan and Roy are members of Last Crew, a secret battalion in the IRTA. The 100 members of this battalion are dispatched throughout the world to put an end in the robot menace.

Dan is a 33-year-old from Nebraska. He joined the army at 18 and was invited by IRTA to be a part of Last Crew. He's been serving with Last Crew for four years.
So, will you tell me where my Toaster is or I'll need to blow up your circuits?
Roy Boden, nickname Big Bow, is a 36-year-old from Massachusetts. His father worked at a small robot factory, but his youth was difficult financially. He did not enjoy studying, but he progressed into high school because he wanted to play football. He's been with Last Crew for four years as well.
So Dan, how are we going to call for Pizza if the world has been taken over by Robots?

3 of the Best Post-Apocalypitic Games EVER

According to that Crazy Weirdo Harold Camping, the World begins to end today. In honor of his mathematic insanity, I'll post a list of the best Post-Apocalyptic Games EVER! Ha ha ha ha ha ha!

3. METRO 2033

You're named Artyom.  You live in a Underground Metro Station in a Post-Apocalyptic Russia. You must travel through territories infested with Soviets, Nazis and Grotesque Creatures called the "Dark Ones", with little to no ammunition, with the objective to is to reach the Polis Station and fire a missiles to destroy the dreadful creatures. It's one hell of a atmosphere in this game!

The World has been destroyed by a Nuclear World-War, and the survivors need to fight to survive in the ruins of this former world. There's no ammo, food, water and things you need to survive, the only way to get anything of that is going to the outside and fight for the resources against all kinds of monsters, rebels and etc.

The Survival Horror combined with the FPS Shooter Experience make this game the number 3 in the rank of Post-Apocalyptic Games.

The Game is based in the novel of the same written by Dmitry Glukhovsky. It's a good reading If you like Horror books!

2. Resistance: Fall of Man (Series)

The Game's story takes place in Britain, 1951. You are the Sgt. Nathan Hale, and humanity has fallen. After an Attack of Creatures called Chimera, most of the planet has been taken and it's up to you to put an end to the invaders.

The Atmosphere of the game is AMAZING! You really feel that most of the humanity has been wiped out by the creatures! There are destroyed buildings everywhere, abandoned cars and vehicles, and the world is in ruins! The Number of Weapons in pretty impressive ranging from Shotguns and Pistols to Laser Weapons!

This Incredible Series gets the Number 2 in our list!

1. Disaster Report (Series)

Technically, it's not Post-Apocalyptic Setting but it's one hell of a game! All the games in the series take place after a big disaster. You have to use your skills to find a secure escape route, while you rescue more survivors. In the recent Disaster Report 4 (Sadly, Canceled for now), you will use the PS Move to lift ruble, metal and other things to help your character proceed in the game.

With the Chaotic Setting of a Disaster, this AWESOME game gets the 1st Place on our list!

Review - Dynasty Warriors 7

As a Fan of the Dynasty Warriors Series, I cannot allow myself to not review this new installment in the series!

Dynasty Warriors 7 is a stepping stone for the series, as it takes a new direction with the new Jin Kingdom and the Return of the Kingdom Story Mode from DW4. There are several new characters and a new system that allows you to equip two weapons at the same time.

In the Revamped Kingdom Story Mode, you select one of the 4 Main Kingdoms and fight for the Ideals of it's Ruler and for the Unification of China. But for someone that never played any of the games, it seems like a boring and repetitive storyline... You're wrong, my friend! OMEGA-Force manages to keep the Story and the Narrative interesting at all times with new stages and characters as they are incorporated in the story. But it lacks in two things: Characters and Stages. Most of the Story Modes focus in a limited number of characters and leave some of them without any stage or even out of the story! Also Characters from Others Category doesn't get a Story Mode too.

In the New Conquest Mode, this doesn't happen. Every Character in the game gets at least 2 Unique Stages! Most of the Legenary Stages are based in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms book or in KOEI's Original Story, providing the player with great stories and hours of fun. There are over 200 Stages in Conquest Mode, but most of them are short and doesn't provide much of a challenge. Conquest Mode is called the sucessor of the Free Mode, but it fails right there because it doesn't allow you to play Stages featured in Story Mode... At least there are lots of things to unlock in the cities of this mode such as Weapons, Guardian Animals, Allies and much more!

The Graphics got really better in compared to Dynasty Warriors 6. The use of high quality textures and great lightining effects, provide the player with a Movie-like experience combined with the control of camera and how story blends itself with gameplay. IT'S AMAZING! ... At least in the PS3 Version. In the XBOX360 one, the game suffers frenquent slowdowns, eternal loading screen and graphical bugs, and that's really annoying! One thing that KOEI should learn from this is *Flame Shield Up* if a game is a PS3 Exclusive in Japan, leave it that way or it'll end up with the same problems as the XBOX360 Version.

Now let's talk about Gameplay, shall we? The Return to the Charge System made me really hyped because it was a great system from the start and I seriously hated Renbu! Also, with the inclusion of the Dual Weapon, the player can turn a character that he judges a clone in a totaly unique with combinations of the 2 Weapons and the EX Attacks! I almost forgot to talk about the Two Musou Attacks that everyone gets! They are AWESOME! A Incredible display of AWESOMENESS!

One thing that impressed me was the size of the maps! They are Freaking Huge! You get your horse and it takes a long time through the wonderful landscapes the game has to offer!

When you are not tearing the enemies ranks, you can stop at the galleries and enjoy music, characters bios, movies and all sort of things!

With Improved Graphics, Enhanced Gameplay and Hours of Fun, Dynasty Warriors 7 gets a 9 out of 10! What that means to you? Buy it, Bastard! You won't regret it!

Piracy and the Companies

Piracy is an matter that makes the big companies in the world of video games shake in their socks. But the question is: Do we have much of a choice?

In countries where the government charges cruel taxes for original games and consoles, what would you do? Appeal to piracy of course! Go to a Alternative Store and buy a burned copy or a HDD with Several Games!

In Brazil for example, there are cities like mine that doesn't even sell Original Games because NO ONE wants to pay 250R$ (Or 185U$/125EUR$)... That's just unfair! It's like 80% of Taxes for a Single Game!

One of the motives that make people buy Pirated Games is the Low Price (They say it destroys your console, but that's a lie)... A XBOX360 Pirated Game is like 7R$ (Or 4U$/3EUR$) and a Wii Game is 4R$ (Or 2U$/1,50EUR$), that's really cheap, don't you think? PS3 Games are sold in External HDDs in Several Sizes... A 2TB HDD with nearly 220 Full Games is worth 600R$ (Or 369U$/259EUR$)!

To effectively combat Piracy, Gaming Companies need to mobilize and do something! Open a Factory in Brazil, China, Paraguay etc... The Government of such countries don't even do anything about it... Either way their pockets will be full of Money, Dirty or Not...

In my Opinion, Gaming Piracy will exist forever... But if the companies develop some kind of system that connects with a satellite and allows you to play all the games from a remote server just for a monthly tax, that would be a fatal blow in the flag and heart of the Piracy. DON'T STEAL MY IDEA, COMPANIES!

So, what's your opinion about piracy?
